TRT (TESTOSTERONE REPLACEMENT THEAPY)

We’ve found that there are many benefits of testosterone replacement therapy that many patients are not aware of. Most people are aware that testosterone injection benefits energy levels and sex drive, but few know of the wide variety of organs that are benefitted by testosterone.

Testosterone Injection Benefits The Entire Body

One of the greatest benefits of testosterone replacement therapy is that your entire body can improve from it. Testosterone and other hormones affect a range of organs including your heart, muscles, and bones. Here 5 different ways that testosterone injection benefits your body.

Heart Health

A number of studies have been done on the effects of testosterone on the heart. While some seemed to show negative effects, a very large study of over 6300 patients treated with testosterone found testosterone had a mild protective effect on the heart.

Muscle Health

Another study found that one of the benefits of testosterone replacement therapy was increased muscle mass. The study on 76 older men found an increase to lean muscle mass for men on testosterone replacement therapy compared to the control group.

But that’s just the beginning. If testosterone injection benefits muscle mass without any sort of exercise routine, imagine what it might do combined with strength training.

Does this mean you can get back into the kind of shape you were in throughout high school? Probably not. But it does mean that you can fight the slow decline in your muscle mass that hypogonadism (Low Testosterone) causes.

Body Fat Reduction

The same study above also found that testosterone injection benefits not just your muscles, but also your body fat levels—by decreasing them. The same men who experienced a slight gain in lean muscle mass experienced a more significant reduction in body fat.

As we age, our body fat levels naturally go up. However, low testosterone can make this issue much worse. Weekly testosterone injections often result in many of our patients losing visceral body fat—the most dangerous type of fat found around the stomach.

Bone Health

Yet another casualty of the aging process is bone density. A study of 36 men with hypogonadism found that testosterone injection benefits bone density as well. It also reduces bone remodeling (a process by which our bones reform, generally not in ways we want).
