Aesthetic Services

aesthetics services - Tucson Wellness MD

Aesthetic services address a variety of beauty needs. From laser hair removal and skin care to cosmetic surgery or plastic surgery to obtain a more youthful appearance. Aesthetic treatments may include spa treatments to hydrate the skin and reverse sun damage, remove unwanted hair, reduce the visibility of spider veins, and prevent wrinkles.

While some services offered can be performed by a licensed esthetician, others require medical training for the best results. At Tucson Wellness MD, each procedure is performed by our Nurse Practitioner, Anna Shaffer, utilizing only the latest and innovative products and techniques.

Neuromodulators

facial treatment

A neuromodulator is an injectable drug that relaxes and softens the skin by restricting facial muscles from contracting. The effects of this can be reduced or erased wrinkles, decreased oil production, and facial contouring to provide a younger, refreshed appearance.

Botox, one of the most popular aesthetic neuromodulators, acts as a muscle relaxant. Botox procedures involve injections of small doses of a neurotoxin solution into the skin. These differ from dermal fillers, a gel-like substance, that is injected into certain areas of the face to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, scarring, fine lines, unwanted texture, and folds in the skin by restoring volume.

Medical Microneedling

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves pricking the skin with tiny sterilized needles. The small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal the skin and help clients look younger. Microneedling is less damaging than services such as chemical peels, which may not be an option for clients with sensitive skin. You might also hear it called collagen induction therapy.

Microneedling treatment may help with issues like:

  • Acne
  • Hair loss
  • Pigmentation of dark spots or patches on your skin (hyperpigmentation)
  • Large pores
  • Reduced skin elasticity
  • Scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Sun damage
  • Fine lines and wrinkles

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

A Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) facial involves a skin resurfacing procedure like microdermabrasion or micro needling before PRP is injected into the skin. Microneedling tricks your body into thinking that it has experienced injury and forces the body to produce new collagen.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy essentially rejuvenates your skin from the inside out. You will notice a reduction of facial grooves and lines and improved facial fullness and texture. It’s perfect for anyone with saggy and droopy skin due to weight loss or aging.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face.

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent.

skin problems

The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle.

What dermal fillers can do

  • Plump thin lips
  • Enhance shallow contours
  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles
  • Improve the appearance of recessed scars
  • Reconstruct contour deformities in the face
  • Decrease or remove the shadow of the lower lids

Dermal fillers can be a very helpful treatment in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of your consultation for facial rejuvenation surgery.

Micro Infusion Botox Facials

A microinfusion botox facial is a very superficial micro needling procedure that deposits Hyaluronic Acid, proprietary Vitamin C, Peptides, and small amounts of diluted Botox into the top layers of the skin to create a smooth texture with reduced pore size. This technique produces a natural appearance-enhancing outcome, without any of the tell-tale signs of traditional neuro-modulator injections.

A Micro Infusion Botox Facial can be used to:

  • Shrink large pores, minimizing oil production and excessive sweating
  • Create a soft, smoother skin texture
  • Reduce general flushing redness
  • Plump thin skin – especially around the eyes, to address crepe-like tone of fragile skin
  • Reduce tiny fine lines and wrinkles
