Medical Microneedling

Microneedling for Skin Renewal and Texture Improvement

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure for your skin. During the procedure, thin needles are used to make tiny holes in the top layer of your skin. This process is designed to stimulate the skin’s natural repair response, which may support collagen and elastin production over time. It is a minimally invasive technique performed under medical supervision. Individual response and outcomes vary.

Most people get microneedling on their face, but you can also get it on your legs, back, neck or other areas where you notice damaged or aging skin. Multiple treatments are usually needed in order to achieve your desired results.

Why Medical Microneedling Requires Proper Technique

Not all microneedling treatments work the same. Depth, technique, and skin assessment control results. Too shallow and nothing changes. Too aggressive and you risk irritation or uneven healing.

At Tucson Wellness MD, microneedling is performed with medical oversight and tailored to your skin’s condition and goals.

What makes our approach different:

• Controlled needle depth based on treatment area
• Focus on collagen stimulation, not surface irritation
• Medical-grade equipment and sterile protocols
• Treatment plans are structured to support gradual skin texture changes over time.
• Treatment plans designed for long-term skin health

Microneedling works by triggering your body’s natural repair process. When performed appropriately, microneedling may help improve the appearance of skin texture and tone.

If you want real skin renewal instead of temporary glow, technique matters.

“After a dermatologist burned a sunspot off my face and left me with a pockmark scar I was extremely self-conscious. I did a lot of research on cost effective ways to minimize the scar that didn’t require a lot of down time. One of the top treatments was microneedling. After 3–4 treatments, I noticed a significant improvement in the appearance of my scar. I loved the way my skin looked so much I make sure to get maintenance treatments 1-2 times a year.”

Important Treatment Information

Microneedling is a medical skin procedure. A consultation is required to determine if treatment is appropriate for your skin type and goals.

Results vary from person to person. Improvement develops gradually as collagen production increases over several weeks. Multiple treatments are typically required for optimal results.

Temporary side effects may include:

• Redness
• Mild swelling
• Skin sensitivity
• Light peeling

These effects usually resolve within a few days.

Microneedling with PRP involves a blood draw and processing of your own platelets. As with any procedure involving blood products, minor risks such as bruising or discomfort at the draw site may occur.

This treatment is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, have active skin infections, certain bleeding disorders, or specific medical conditions. A medical evaluation is required before treatment.

All services are provided following clinical assessment and provider approval.

Microneedling With Plasma-Rich Platelets (PRP)

With Microneedling with PRP, we may use platelet-rich plasma derived from your own blood to support the skin’s natural healing response and improve the appearance of pigmentation or acne scarring.
It involves using your own blood as a resource to isolate the platelets with a centrifuge.

PRP contains proteins and growth factors that are believed to play a role in the body’s natural repair processes.

Because it’s your blood, Because PRP is derived from your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction is generally lower. All risks are reviewed prior to treatment. During the process, your blood is separated into three layers which leaves the PRP available for use during the microneedling process.

Some patients notice temporary skin tightening or brightness following treatment. Final results develop gradually and vary by individual. However, a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart may be recommended based on your skin assessment.
